Western Engagement Photos in Las Vegas
Oftentimes people come to town for the desert landscape, mountain views, and wide open space all of which make the perfect backdrop for western engagement photos in Vegas. If you’re local to Nevada or visiting from out of state, adding horses into your western style engagement photos can be such a fun experience. These two visited from Seattle just for their engagement photos.

Western Engagement Photos with Horses in Vegas
During our search for horses we found Hold Your Horses Las Vegas. The owners were so sweet along with their beautiful horses. They guided the horses and us to work well with one another. For their western engagement photos in Las Vegas they decided that they wanted to have two horses so they could fully lean into the western inspired experience.
We started about an hour before sunset and I documented them greeting the horses and mounting up for the session. The whole evening felt so calm and the way they interacted with each other and the horses made the entire session feel so natural. I loved it so much because they were on a little date while I stood by and documented it. Halfway through, we took a short break so the couple could switch outfits and the horses could rest for a bit.

Sunset Horseback Engagement Photos in Vegas
After their outfit change, the sun had dropped behind the mountains which felt so surreal. We headed back out onto the beaten path and took more shots but this time with some flash. I loved this look because it added such variety to the gallery especially along with the outfit change. It made the gallery feel dynamic while still staying in the same location. I’m obsessed with how the flash photos brought a moodier western feel while still keeping the playfulness of the session.

What To Wear For Your Western Engagement Photos in Las Vegas
One of the most important parts of planning your western styled engagement session is obviously the outfit! First things first, cute cowboy or cowgirl boots are 1000% non-negotiable. For clothing, I always recommend flowy pieces that create movement and give off that free spirited western vibe, along with some good quality denim of course.
When it comes to colors, neutral tones always photograph beautifully in the desert but adding little pops of turquoise or deep red through your accessories can make your outfits feel even more western inspired. Another thing I absolutely recommend is cowboy hats! I know not everyone loves wearing hats but even just holding one for photos can add so much to the overall vibe of your western engagement photos!
