Cinematic Engagement Photos At Lee Meadows | Las Vegas
Dana and Dominic reached out wanting free spirited photos in a beautiful, open space. That led us to create these cinematic engagement photos at Lee Meadows. Lee Meadows is a beautiful location that I frequent and is just 55 minutes from the strip. It’s an open meadow area with stunning mountain views and sometimes has wild horses roaming in the distance. Unlike other areas of Vegas, you can actually see the seasons change throughout the year here, which I love. This location is the perfect place to create imagery that feels carefree and adventurous.
The Best Time For Photos At Lee Meadows
At Lee Meadows, I love going here about two hours before the official sunset since the mountain blocks the sun sooner than the actual sunset time. To me, I feel that this is the perfect timing because you get pretty sun flares and golden light during this time. I also love when the sun drops behind the mountain and the entire meadow is shaded. This really makes the mountain at Lee Canyon pop.
What To Wear For Cinematic Engagement Photos
Since these two wanted cinematic engagement photos, they wore classy clothing with movement. Dana chose to wear a beautiful white gown that caught every bit of movement and Dominic wore a white button up with khaki pants. I also love when they told me they wanted to go barefoot because I feel like that added to that free spirited vibe they were going for.
Creating Movement & Emotion
My style is already very movement based and I do a lot of prompts with my couples so they were perfectly aligned with my style. Throughout their session I guided them with prompts that encouraged natural movement and laughter. One of my favorite prompts is having my couples sit together. I always get excited when couples are willing to fully embrace the experience if that means sitting on the ground, laying back together, or trusting whatever creative idea I have in mind. Those moments become some of my favorites in the gallery.
Why I Love Photographing At Lee Meadows
Lee Meadows is one of my favorite locations to photograph because of the versatility. This is a location that I frequent and no two galleries feel the same. I also love photographing here in the summer because it stays 10 to 20° cooler than in the city where it can get super hot so this is my secret escape to that cool weather and keeping you not flushed and sweaty during your session.
I also love that we can see the seasons change throughout the meadow here unlike in the city. Since Las Vegas doesn’t experience dramatic seasonal changes like many other places, Lee Meadows becomes a space where you can actually enjoy the vibrant fall colors or snowy winter scenery.
