Las Vegas Dry Lake Bed Intimate Wedding | Our Desert Wedding Story
I wanted to switch things up and share about our own Las Vegas Dry Lake Bed Intimate Wedding. My husband Isaiah and I had a short engagement, he proposed on New Year’s and we got married later that June. After four years together, we were more than ready to start our next chapter!
Now let’s talk why we chose to have an Intimate Wedding
When Isaiah proposed, we were so excited and wanted to get married asap!
A few weeks after our engagement, my mom passed away and that shifted everything. It made us realize that we wanted to get married sooner and to intentionally choose a day that truly reflected us. We chose our wedding date because it was my parents’ anniversary just in reverse. A small but very special detail.
When it came to choosing location, the Las Vegas Dry Lake Bed felt like the perfect fit. It’s truly a blank canvas and can design it however you’d like, similar to the salt flats! I would say I’m a minimalist at heart and it allowed us to create something beautiful without overcomplicating it.

- A few chairs for our closest people
- Around 30 guests total
How our wedding day looked
Our wedding day started slow, we spent the morning together with family. My brother brought us breakfast and a latte from my favorite coffee shop here in Las Vegas and we just sat, talked, and enjoyed being present.
As the ceremony got closer, we got ready together at home, which I wouldn’t change for anything. It felt unrushed and completely us.
When we arrived at the dry lake bed, my siblings had set everything up (thanks guys, love you!) We had saved a seat for my mom and this was a very special and intentional detail of our day.
Before the ceremony, Isaiah and I stepped away to exchange private vows. It was so sweet and just how we’d envisioned it. After that, our pastor arrived, we prayed together and then shortly after, began the ceremony. Our ceremony was beautiful. My dad walked me down the aisle, we all prayed together, and said our “I do’s”.
After the ceremony, everyone headed out, leaving just the two of us. We popped champagne, cut our cake, and took golden hour portraits out on the lake bed. We celebrated with everyone afterwards and had dinner.
